Thanks to TKA
After months of planning and preparation TKA students, teachers and parents arrived in Malawi. Karen & Kevin De Smidt led a group of twenty-seven from Sunnyvale, California on a two week mission to care for the children of MCM and to discover the “Warm Heart of Africa”.
The TKA team went with an aim of blessing MCM children and that goal was accomplished. Working with Ken and Avisha, the TKA students were ready with games, crafts and lessons that engaged the children in a unique way. The students took part in the feedings each day and made time for each child.
The visit demonstrated that the language barrier can be overcome through the display of genuine affection and kindness. The smiles on the children’s’ faces was evidence of a successful trip.
The MCM team is truly grateful to everyone who participated in this project. You showed the heart of MCM to children who sorely need to know they are loved. Thank you! And to all of the parents and supporters who made this trip possible, thank you for sharing your children to help Malawi children in need!

On September 5th Andrea Alexander competed in the Skinnyman triathlon in Skaneateles, New York. This was Andrea’s first triathlon, so she wanted to do something special. Andrea graciously donated all funds raised towards the race to the Malawi Childrens Mission. Thank you Andrea for your support and congratulations on a successful race! Sperian, a world leader in personal protective equipment, made a major donation to the Malawi Children’s Mission. The contribution was made towards the completion of the new center. In honor of this gracious gift a plaque has been placed in the main hall!
