The Center Is Open!

Thanks to your generous support, MCM officially opened the children’s center to hundreds of needy children in surrounding villages on December 12, 2008. The 6,000 square foot center will accomodate over 500 children in the main hall, and includes kitchen facilities, library, a medical room, and storage. The main hall will also serve as a commnity center for village-wide activities. The grounds cover 5 acres which includes space to cultivate vegetables and let the children run around playing sports, not to mention enough land for future expansion.

The first feeding was a great success with smiles and laughter all around. Chief Mbwana and other village leaders joined Stephen Koffman, Kenneth Mpemba and a visiting sponsor (and his son) on the momentous occasion.
