Steven Koffman – Co-Founder & Director
Steven is a co-founder of MCM and a board member since inception. After a 15 year career in domestic and international hotel management, Steven received his Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, with studies in Administration and International Social Welfare. He has worked domestically and abroad on social welfare issues focused on children at Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall Gang Camp and Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charities Calcutta, India. He was an intern at UNICEF while attending Columbia University, where his work focused primarily on United Nations reform and HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.

Sean Robinson – Co-Founder & Director
Sean is a co-founder and board member since inception. He currently works with an investment management firm in the Bay Area. Sean has served on several boards and mission groups. He is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Sean lives with his wife in the Bay Area.

Kiran Robinson – Director
Kiran is a member of the board since inception. She works at Stanford University Hospital in the food services division. Kiran has owned and operated her own catering company and has a passion for food. She is instrumental in planning for the center’s feeding facilities.

 

Kenneth Mpemba – Executive Director
Ken is a member of the Malawi Board and serves as Executive Director of MCM responsible for the operations in Malawi. He is a native of Malawi and a graduate of African Bible College. Ken has operated a construction business, and also has experience leading youth groups such as Navigators, in Malawi. Ken has a sincere passion for the children of Malawi and has been a part of MCM’s development from the outset. Ken lives in Blantyre with his wife, Avisha and their sons, Isaac and Ezra.

 

Avisha Mpemba – Executive Director
Avisha is a member of the Malawi board and is responsible for the administration of MCM and program development. She graduated from Biola University with a degree in Secondary Education. Avisha has served in many children’s programs in the USA and in Malawi. She is married to Ken Mpemba and they have two boys, Isaac and Ezra.

 

Phoebe Kufeyani – Social Director
Phoebe is MCM’s Social Director responsible for child development, education and community outreach. In addition to a Certificate of Education, Phoebe holds a certificate in Counseling from the Institute of Counseling in the United Kingdom. Phoebe has worked in Malawi’s Ministry of Agriculture and has worked as a Senior Social Worker for a children’s charity in Blantyre. She lives in Blantyre with her husband, Andy.
